Promoting Conservation through Community Development

An Eco-Initiative is an all-encompassing conservation process designed for the communities resident in project areas.

In dealing with the climate change threat, coping mechanisms are developed for agriculture, eco-tourism, and the subsistence and commercial use of vegetation resources. CSA provides a reliable, solid business vehicle with supporting administration, project management and business management for associated scientists who bring their expertise to our projects.

Through seed funding, a workshop programme is used to motivate villagers to invest their own labour and their own resources in the management of the land. To achieve this goal, the Eco-Initiatives are financing a community capacity building programme that use a ‘build, operate and own’ process to establish conservation businesses. These businesses are biodiversity friendly and are designed so that communities and villagers are rewarded for livelihood practices that avoid habitat deforestation and habitat degradation.
